Kenfilt and Industry 4.0
Commissioning of an FTD 15 AD TA unit in Italy connected to 8 surface grinding machines (500 l/min). Consumable tracking system, touch screen and OPC connection for real-time monitoring.
KENFILT commissioned a precoat central FTD 15 AD TA at an Italian surface grinding company, prepared for Industry 4.0.
In October 2021, Kenfilt was in Italy commissioning a precoat central FTD 15 AD TA connected to 8 surface grinding machines with a distribution flow of 500 l/min, expandable to 800 l/min.
This unit incorporates a consumable tracking and control system so the customer can carry out an environmental study on the use of the central. Consumable control is managed by a series of specific sensors that provide information to the PLC, display data on screen and record the history on an SD card.
The filtration central is connected to the company's management system via OPC, carrying out real-time environmental and operational monitoring. This allows the customer to optimise the use of the central by studying the historical data obtained.
The unit features an informative screen showing weekly consumption data. This allows the responsible technician to determine whether the filtration central needs adjustments to minimise consumption — essential information for the maintenance department in cost reduction.
The system also gathers data from sensors on the most important elements, displayed on the touch screen, allowing the user to know the status of the central at all times — from the number of dry sludge cakes produced to the oil level in the tanks.
One of the most important improvements compared to the previous system is the reduction of oil in waste. Through automated sludge drying, the KENFILT central produces dry sludge with minimal oil residue, reducing environmental impact and recycling and transport costs.
Once again, Kenfilt filtration units are designed and built to reduce environmental impact and prepared for the new connected Industry 4.0.
